rear main seal

I know this is going to sound stupid but does anyone have a pic of how a one piece rear main seal is supposed to look when its installed, or instructions on how to install one? I'm rebuilding a vortec block, first time rebuilding a motor, and all the literature I have on rebuilding chevy's is for two piece rear mains, and the gasket set has no info on how it goes on. Thanks for the help.

Re: rear main seal

Bolt the seal housing to the rear of the block with new paper gasket. I hold the seal against the crank with one hand and use a pick or transmition seal tool to get the lip started with the other. after the seal is started you can use a drift to drive it on in.

Make sure you install the seal with the lip pointing in the right direction.
