How much do each of the items listed weigh?

+ Panhard Bar
+ Rear Lower Control Arm

 

i would guess 5lbs each? or did you need a precise answer? i think the aftermarket units would be a bit heavier.

 

I was hoping for a precise answer.. just trying to see how much bs aftermarket is saying.. i also ordered some replacement parts just to see...

 

i dont think the weight difference is very much. are you trying to reduce un-sprung weight?

 

i'm trying to lose weight as much as possible but not making my car, a drag strip for 9 seconds or anything.

 

what have you done to lose weight so far?

 

The stock panhard bar and the Hotchkis piece I'm running now seem to weigh about the same. The Hotchkis control arms are quite a bit heavier then the stockers. I don't think any of them make a difference you'd feel just from weight. The aftermarket pieces make a change you'll feel in handling and performance though.

 

thats a good point. if a part is going to add weight but increase traction you will still be faster overall.

 

I'm looking at either losing weight or be able to keep the same weight. From what I have so far this is it:

Swap my steel cowl hood for a fiberglass cowl hood

Subframe Connector
4Pt Roll Cage

This car is a 1989 Camaro RS
Can't think of anything else at the moment

 

Try replacing the stock swaybars with the hollow bars from the GTA/IROC/Z28?
