Pete Jackson Noisy Gears stay or go?

Hi All,

My project Camaro is going in the shop for exhaust, bodywork and paint at the end of the month. They are going to also replace the timing chain cover with a chrome one and here's my chance to change out the noisy gears. The motor already had them installed when I got it and i was told that it's a fresh rebuild. I'm thinking about changing out the Pete Jackson Noisy Gears because people tell me that I'll get sick of the noise. What do you think, should it stay or go. I'm only driving the car to cruise ins and on weekends.

Thanks for the help,
Rob

nice ride. looks like you painted an oil pan on your hood..lol it's personal preference. though you likely wont hear it from inside the car with a loud exhaust.

And the wivestale repeats itself. It's a personal preference deal.it's never been proven in any dyno test I've ever seen that they rob one ounce of horsepower.I don't like them, because they are annoying.

Re: Pete Jackson Noisy Gears stay or go?

I had a noisy gear set in my race car for 1 day then yanked them out and put a chain back in. Even in the race car, I couldn't stand the noise.

I'm going with the double roller. So, the summit one is the best for the price?

Re: Pete Jackson Noisy Gears stay or go?

Just get a Cloyes set that's best suited for your application. Even a Cloyes bottom end set is still more than good enough to use.
