need head number help

Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.08
need head number help
so i bought this motor out of an old nova and the guy said he doesnt know if its origional or not. i think it has been rebuilt for sure but i really cant find anything on the heads the number is 3888336 has anyone ever used this head and if so are they champs or are they chumps. oh and i belive it is a 350 2 bolt but i really dont know the difference by looking so it may be a 350 4 bolt

Those casting #'s can be hard to distinguish. Any chance it is 3986336?
"Old Nova" makes "chump" much more likely.

You can't tell 2- vs. 4-bolt from the outside. You need to pull the oil pan and look.

The block casting # doesn't necessarily tell you whether or not it is 2- or 4-bolt.

That's the only place that I could find with that information. Makes it suspect to me. Truck 350's typically had 4-bolt mains.
But, at any rate, you can pretty much assume that any early 70's factory truck heads are better door stops or boat anchors than heads to use on a performance engine. Don't have hardened exhaust valves or seats, if you need a reason not to use them. Large chambers and small valves are another couple good reasons to toss them.
