head gasket fix in a bottle???

Anybody ever heard of this stuff called "steel seal"? They claim that it can fix a blown head gasket. It sounds too good to be true.

Head gasket fix in a bottle? It might work, as long as you are in Ohio and the bottle looks like this:

Honsetly, I doubt that you will have much success. It may temporarily slow the problem but you will eventually have to repair it properly. It would be a really good excuse to do some other mods, like a little bowl and pocket porting, valve upgrade, screwed studs, and give you a good look at the bore wear and taper.

It does not work. Due to cheap customers I have used all kinds of quick fixes at request. I got the head gasket in a bottle to "workish" one time it was some blue crap $40 for a tiny bottle. I followed directions to a T and it held over night.

Stuff seems to me to be a "get you to the shop" kind of fix. Just like most other sealants including that tire inflate-n-seal stuff.

My thing is if it gunks up a hole or leak, Who knows what else it will gunk up in your motor.

My grandparents used it once to get their DOHC 2.7L V6 intrepid to the dealership for a new car. haha. The dealership turned around and sold the car 1 week later (not sure if they fixed the head gaskets or not)...poor sap

Those head gaskets are a BITCH! I did them once and that was the last time.
