Umbrella Seals

I'm having some smoking issues so while my valve covers are off, they are getting replaced. But no one locally knows what I need. Do I want then improved 0-ring version? Does anyone have a part number? I don't want to order the wrong ones

I didn't see any threads specific to the seals.

That's what I'm thinking. I need to check out NAPA. I keep forgetting about them

Is there a reason to use two different styles? It's a old engine that may be swapped out this winter, but I don't like leaving a smoke trail

Re: Umbrella Seals

I'm too tired to go in depth this evening. I do this for a living, I've sent thousands out the door the way I said, I've never once had any problem from it. It is correct or I wouldn't say it. If you want the in-depth, ask again tomorrow.

Re: Umbrella Seals

not saying its incorrect, just saying the only heads... 2 sets... ive done a complete overall on, only used the second umbrella and 1 also used the orings on top of the valves, and the kit i bought from summit only came with the second set of seals

so from my experience either will work, but you're the pro not me
