ticking sound from intake
i have an 82 t/a with a 305 carb engine.here is some back ground i bought this car a few months ago it is supose to have only 46,000 miles and it does look it. but here recently there has been a ticking noise, at first i thought it was one of my lifters i tried to ajust or tighten but that didnt work, put some seafoam in oil and ran it a couple of days then changed oil, and put that mysteria oil in also, still has ticking, i put a long screw driver to valve covers there is a very faint ticking coming from them, then put it to the intake then it got louder, any ideas guys or gals, sorry for long form just wanted all the info i could think of. what can i do about this thanks

Something else just food for thought, check your flex plate for cracks, mine made the click, and I did just about everything you did, checked valves, added tranny fluid to oil to get it to leave, didnt work. There is nothing but push rods and lifters directly under the intake. It coudl be ticing somewhere else and just mvoing threw the motor....

LOL its between the motor and the transmission, its what the starter turns to get the motor started... you might have to drop the trans just to get a good look at it but then again you might not mine was so bad when I took the bolts out that held it in place the center hole stayed in palce and the flaex plate droped it was bad.... good luck
