any stepped up cam from stock will obviously make you more power, unless you dont have the neccessary mods to back it. that is a mild cam and should be able to run on a pretty much stock set up.

what year is your car? if i remember right in 87 they switched to a roller cam, that is a flat tappet

i belive it should work, let the pros chime in though. but dont expect an HUGE jump in peformance because i belive 85 tpi's already had pretty decent cams, but it will help.
