Gas Overflowing
Filled the tank up last night, drove it about 10 miles.
Today there is a strong gas odor near the tank, so I open up the gas door and there is gas just sitting there, appears to have spilled out.
What would cause this? Only thing I can think is perhaps I didn't close the cap correctly and make sure it clicked. If I push on the metal tab where the pump goes, gas is all the way up to it.
any ideas here?
something major, or just a bonehead mistake? who knows how long it sat on the paint. so I cleaned it up best I could
oh, I did fill up the car while it was running, don't normally do this, but the battery went dead and I didn't want to risk it not restarting

Re: Gas Overflowing
thanks, would that lead to pressure issues where the gas would still be up that high in the filler neck?
