Delay when giving gas

Car runs great and everything, but sometimes when i accelerate from a stop its as is the rpm drop for a split second and then it picks up? I'm really confused on why this could be. I would also like to know what my car is supposed to be idling at. 1984 z28 H.O.

Re: Delay when giving gas

I get that when I am idling and then accelerate. I always accepted that as a carb thing. I think even though it is a metered quaderojet, it is still reactive meaning it needs vacuum to respond. Any techies that know otherwise, are welcome to correct me, but I believe that to be the case.
