Left ignition on all day, won't turn over now.

This is my daily driver. I'm an idiot and left the ignition on all day and it won't turn over now. It'll crank and the battery is good, but it won't start. I've recently replaced the cap, wires, plugs, pick-up coil and ignition module. Did something get smoked? Like a fuse maybe. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure the battery fully charged it's possible for everything to light up and it to actually crank but not have enough juice to turn the starter fast enough to fire up.

After that's cleared start a list and work down. Does it have fuel, does it have spark... etc.

Would be odd, but can coils burn up if energized all day? After all mentioned above I would be looking into the fuse block.

You've got to ask bro... here on TGO there are a lot of modified and hacked up birds... so better to ask up front than in post 75 ... oh by the way the engine is TPI...

So the starter is working and the motor turns over but it just doesn't fire up?

Yes, it cranks, but it will not fire up. I am going to replace the ignition module (Thank god I have a spare) when I finish typing this. We'll see what happens!

Most refer to "turning over" as the starter spinning the motor. It "cranking" would mean it actually starts.

This is the most confusing part I guess. I've never heard of cranking meaning that it actually starts. To me turning over and cranking mean the same thing. Cars used to have an actual crank in the front that people would turn to start the car. Also batteries are rated in CCA (cold cranking amps). Starting to me means it actually starts. Running means that it would continue to run.

Now comes the 3 pages of useless back and forth talk about the differences between cranking and turning over.

Exactly why I did not try to explain it to TSRAM. Thanks everyone else for clearing it up for him/her though.

I was going to try to help earlier based on the title but then realized it conflicted with the first post. With the second person coming in doing the same thing, well -I'm sorry I just couldn't take it anymore. Terminology needs to be agreed upon or it's useless trying to accomplish anything. I didn't think there would actually be any dispute over it though.

LOL that's why I tried to state it clearly in my question. So did the new module fix it?
