How much horsepower should this setup have with a good tune?

slp high flow runners
58mm throttle body

you should gain about 60-80hp to the original amount. I believe that those 5.7' had about 210hp so you have about 270-290hp. However, you will loose low-end power but you should notice a good amount of power in the 4000-6000 rpm range.

If you don't mind me asking ( camaro305sb ) what's wrong with my answer. My dad had a 88 formula 350 and that car had 220hp from the factory and its the same 5.7tpi i would think.

 

So, by that, you probably have 240 to 250 HP at the fly wheel. That would be my best flywheel bench racing HP guess.

 

do you know what 80 HP is? he will be lucky if he gets half of that with only does mods

 

Agreed. I think 40hp is even a bit over the top. My guess is 25 to 30hp over stock maybe.
