another jerking problem
ok, i have a 87 camaro lt and ever since i got it the thing seemed to have a sort of hesitation while accelerating. recently this problem has become full out jerking (at least i think it is the same problem) i automatically assumed it needed a tune up and replaced all spark plugs wires distributor and although this made the car run better, still didn't fix the initial problem. Now this only seems to become worse once the car is wamred up and i'm not sure if it's a coincidence or not but it also seems to do it while going down hill. I then thought it may be the fuel filter so i replaced that and once again, made the car run better, but ddn't fix the problem. the biggest problem is that my service engine light won't come on and give me any codes so that i can troubleshoot. PLEASE HELP! any suggestions would be awesome! (and could possibly cure my headache, haha)

Might need a new ignition module inside the distributor - most parts store chains will test them for free but I never bothered I just replaced as they aren't that expensive.

Another symptom of this problem is that i seem to be getting air in the fuel rail. If i clear out the air, the problem goes away, however, i have to let out the air everytime i want to drive the car. What are some possible ways i could be getting air into the fuel rail?

I don't know about the air in the fue rail, but your other symptoms sound like a problem I had with mine. Do you get less jerking if you milk the clutch (if you have a manual)? After replacing everything, I finally broke down and put a new fuel pump in and cured the problem I had for over a year.

i do have lots of fuel pressure, which is makin me start to think it might be something to do with ignition. distributor maybe? arg. i wish i could figure this one out!

spray some water around the bottom of your injectors and listen to hear it sucking in. maybe you need a new o ring.

Re: another jerking problem
This could also be a leak in the rubber hose between the pump and sending unit inside the tank, causing the fuel to cavitate. See if the problem is better with a full tank of gas. If so, it's the hose in the tank.
