Hard hitting sound in rear
I'll go over a bump and it sounds like from the rear of the passenger i'll hear something hard hit, like something drops from below and hits something.. hard to explain but i cant figure out what it is. I replaced the exhaust hangers, that didnt do it.. cant figure it out, only thing thats aftermarket is the subbox but that thing is snug tight..

And while your checking that, check the torque arm mount, too. I had sounds that I thought were coming from the rear and that turned out to be the problem. If it is the torque arm mount, it will only get worse than it will make noise everytime you change gears or touch the gas..

Also you meant to check the rear bolts that are connected to the pumpkin correct or just overall on the torque arm?

Re: Hard hitting sound in rear
I meant the actual torque arm mount on the transmission, go with a polyurethane unit made by energy suspension if yours is bad. It requires removing your bracket and drilling out some rivits, but its worth it to have a mount that isn't going to quickly wear out on you. It is very unlikely that the bolts on the differential housig came loose somehow, but it never hurts to check everything. Also I didnt mean gears like when the trans shifts, I meant when going from park to drive/reverse or going from reverse to drive, etc.. Also Accelerating and decelerating will cause the arm to move up or down in its metal housing causing an annoying/loud alarming noise.
