VATS Module
Another question for you guys. I know my VATS module is bad in my Camaro. I have ohm'd it out and it has the correct resistance all the way down to the module. My question is..will the VATS module that Autozone sells work as a fix for a bad module. Would I have to get a different key? Thanks guys

Re: VATS Module
I would imagine that unless it's asking for a specific resistance no, unless it's like the i believe HAWKs version, and first time u turn the key it burns the resistance into the box, but again, I thought that was something special they sold. What's your resistance? I have a box sitting in my garage, I got a new car and ended up swapping column and box to avoid any possibilities.

Re: VATS Module
you could always get a bypass box and eliminate the VATS problem once and for all...

The starter doesn't engage at all. I had to run a hot wire to the starter until I get it fixed.

Re: VATS Module
You need to look at starter enable relay, nuetral safety switch, or ignition switch issues.

Re: VATS Module
I think I have it narrowed down to the neutral safety switch. I have a B&M shifter automatic megashifter. Is there any harm in splicing the 2 wires together and bypassing the switch altogether?

Re: VATS Module
Potentially yes. That switch keeps you from starting the car while in gear. With it bypassed, you could be able to start the car in reverse or drive, whih is never a good thing. It would be best to just fix it or replace it.

Re: VATS Module
Still no luck...it's not the starter relay, VATS, ignition switch, or the neutral safety switch. What else is there?
