When I accelerate slowly my car feels like it is missing. It shakes as it accelerates, and runs like crap. If I step on it I do not notice it. It idles fine. I have recently replaced the spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, fuel pump and fuel injectors. Any idea what could be causing this? I am stumped.

 

Have you checked your MAF sensor(you may not have this) or MAP sensor for proper operation. This info to ECM may be off.

 

I was thinking it could be the Throttle position sensor. I may start there. It is a 91 so it is speed density.

 

Checked TPS and Map sensor. Not either of those. I actually replaced them both just in case.

 

Ok, so it is still rough while accelerating, and when I come to a stop it wants to die. I am out of ideas. Anyone have suggestions?

 

Vacuum leak

 

I am dumb, where all would I check?

 

All vacuum hoses that attach to the manifolld, plenum, map sensor, power brake booster, charcoal canister.....

 

I will check them tonight and go from there. Thanks

 

Replaced the fuel filter since I had one. Still the same

 

Well, I can not see or hear any vacuum leaks. I did find 2 wires that are not plugged into anything. Not sure where they go or what they are. The first is up by the break booster.

 

The second is under the front of the car hanging by the driver side.

 

I saw that same cable unplugged in my 91, i've always wondered what it is or where it plugs into

 

Second one looks like the wire for the temp sender for the temp gauge. Does yours work or is it stock? Since you don't seem to have a stock engine, anything you can tell us about the engine in there now would make it easier to help

 

Stock 305 in a GTA, not the one in my sig. Sorry. Was the ignition module that was bad.
