For stock heads, there aren't much better than the ones it came with.

Not BS, but not good value for 305s, either. You have to mill them a lot, you have to swap the lower intake manifold, the exhaust side needs help...
For about the same money, you could do the TFS 175 heads, if you're planning on keeping the stock LIM, with porting.
But your 081s can be milled, cut for bigger valves, ported, and will perform nearly as well as the other 2 options, for much less cost.

Vortecs are a fine street head. They're just not stock to thirdgens, and you have to use an expensive lower intake if you wanted to keep the TPI.

What about the Trick Flow 305 heads? They are about the only "performance" 305 head on the market that I'm ware of. They have the right sized chambers so no milling is required to maintain the compression ratio. And the cost would probably be less than a Vortec swap (when you factor in the extra ~$400 they charge for a Vortec TPI baseplate). Heck, they're even 50 state emissions legal:

No you can't find the vortec tpi intake on a car unless it was installed with the heads. Vortec heads came on a truck engine and tpi was long gone from production vehicles by then. If you want a tpi vortec intake be prepared to pay 400+. I would got the TFS 305 heads if anything.
