Broken Engine Mount?
So I own a 1992 Camaro z28
there are a few things wrong with my car that I have been dealing with since I dont have a ton of money to fix them right now.
-guage fuse continually blows, im assuming due to my cruise control wire
- replaced my shifter cable, but my car doesnt shift all the way to park so it sits parked with the e brake.
- The main reason im posting here is because after i start my car and shift to drive i can feel a slight jerk. Im assuming an engine mount since ive noticed the movement and a slight acceleration loss, but i also just had a replacement exhaust put in.
So I was wondering how can i confirm an engine mount is broken and if it is what sort of cost to repair should i prepare for?

Re: Broken Engine Mount?
Easiest way is to look at the mount and rev the engine by grabbing the throttle at the engine. There should not be much movement at all. If it jumps around then it is bad. As far as repair cost, the mount it self should be cheep however i dont know what a shop will charger to install it.

Could be - but I'd first look at the tranny mount (cheaper and easier to swap) and second maybe U-joints on the driveshaft.
If you got that shifter cable from advance/autozone/oreilly/etc. - trash it and order a Dorman brand cable or get one from dealer if any are left - those "chain" store shifter cables are junk and break as soon as they are installed.

Thanks, im getting extra money from school here in the next month and wanted to have an idea on the issue with the engine before getting new tires and what not. Thats not a bad idea to check the shifter cable again because it is a similar issue to before but happen at a different time, it used to jerk going into gear around 35mph, would definitely be the cheaper fix.
