i have no idea where these parts go? please some one help!?!?!?
ok so i got this car from a guy at school ho but in a 350 from an 89 blazer and upon opening the hood i found the two hoses disconnected one with a screw in it and the other with nothing in it so can any one tell me where they go and about the pic with the throttle cable with prong should it go on? should it stay on the one it is on or the longer one and if you look at the pic you can see behind the cable there is a longer cable that looks identical besides the longer silver pieces so my question is which one goes to which?

1st pic: there is a vacuum line coming out of the harness located behind the evaporator, connect that line to that bolt is.
2nd pic: sorry but my car doesn't have that cable.
3rd pic: connect that hose to a black ball (softball size) located inside the driver side fender.

The cable is for cruise control and i think it cant be hooked up due to the differences in the truck tbi unit.

Did you connect the vacuum lines?
Why is your speedometer and trip don't work?
Could be your speed sensor is bad or check the connector, bad cluster loose connection in the back if the cluster or like in my case, the car was parked for so many years that the plastic gears that move the gauge and the rolls of numbers were broken.

The cruise is operated on a vacuum, dont know why it wouldn't work, just move the cable out to the connector on the end. Or, pick up a TBI unit from a camaro and stick that on there, almost all of the hook ups should be the same. The hose by the charcoal canister is for emissions and fuel/return. Car might not run totally well without it hooked up.
For the speedo, like the last poster mentioned, if the car has a mechanical speedo but it's not hooked up or cable is broken, it won't read. If for some reason the tranny is designed for an electrical imput and your car has the mechanical speedo, it won't even hook up to it. Best bet there, I'd take it to a transmission shop and have them take a look at it. My cable broke, so my speedo quit working. Needed it wokring right away though because I work on a military base and 3mph over gets you a speeding ticket.

Could be the VSS is bad, I'm not real versed on the electronic speedometers as mine is mechanical. Anyone else have some input on what to look for?

The charcoal cannister is the black round thing under your hand (looks like a coffee can) in the third picture you posted. The vacuum cannister is the round ball shaped thing under neath that cannister (it's upside down underneath it bolted to the same brackets)
