Code 32 only shows up when the computer operates the EGR system (while driving)
and doesn't see the EGR temp sensor working.
This could be because of faulty wiring and not that the sensor itself is bad

Trouble Code 32 EGR SYSTEM FAULT

Code 32 indicates a malfunctioning EGR valve,
a malfunctioning EGR temperature diagnostic switch, or an open or short to ground in the circuit

Have you cleared the codes and seen if it comes back?

Re: bad egr temp sensor ?

when the sensor gets grounded it will cause a 32. I would clear it if it comes back on check for shorts on this circuit and even leave he stupid thing in plugged.

Re: bad egr temp sensor ?

in order to acces the sensor will have too pull the plenum and replace the sensor with a know good one or the link I provided. Gm has discontinued this years ago. Most guys just leave the stupid thing unplugged when it fails.

TP - If you ever get into a bind on a restoration and cannot repair the OEM switch satisfactorily, you can look at the Emerson-Thermodisc Type 48T bimetal switches. About 300-350° should work nicely. http://www.thermodisc.com/productDet...p?ProductID=89
