Anyone have this problem?
Ok I got a code read for my Thottle position sensor, Picked one up at part store. Replaced it and noticed the the spring release lever on side was longer on side causing it to be up against the throttle body, not allowing it to spring back to right position. So I called the auto store and they said thats the only one they had or could order. called Merle's and they had to order one at $50 bucks more then the one i paid for at Checkers. So if it has the same longer metal side spring thingy, then they said i would have to order from the dealership. Has anyone ever has this problem?
Thanks
Thanks

I had to file mine down, works fine. Maybe bend it out a little also.

Exactly mine is bent in also. So this is not uncommon. I don't have a grinder but my friend does. It can't affect the sensor with the vibration of the grinding can it?

No, It will be fine. One of the best investments I made about 15yrs ago is a Dremmel tool. With all the attachments, you can cut, grind, shape just about anything. You can never have enough tools.

Re: Anyone have this problem?
Ok I have changed out the Temp sensor, TPS,Oxygen sensor, due to code reads. Well let me began from the beginning.. Changed out the cat, direct fit, big mistake but to late its in. Have a little exhaust leak due to direct fit was not perfect connection. So waiting to have it welded. Ok engine light is on and reads a lot of codes. That's why i started changing things out. My problem is the car sometimes looses power as I push the gas, hesitation like. Ok this is really strange the engine light went off, car ran like s**t then it came back on during driving and ran better.
I am at a loss and it seems that machanics just want to change all the parts. But the problem is still there. WTH

You will need to tell us what your codes are. One problem can cause alot of codes to pop up.

Did you check for vacuum leaks, that can make some of them things code on you also.
PS get a mechanic that knows how to diagnose TPI

Well I am going to get the cat exhaust leak welded tomorrow and go from there.
Someone told me that a exhaust leak could cause Engine light, and bad codes.
I wish I had a mechanic that knew more about these cars close to where I live.
I'm thinking about taking a auto class in college just to learn more. I really don't like others working on my car. But no way around it right now. Every code pretty much is showing up. Could be my ECM. The guy that is doing the work tomorrow is going to run some test also. When I went to his shop the most beautiful bird was sitting out front taking two parking spot. I hope it is his and he knows these cars. Thanks guys for your input.

Re: Anyone have this problem?
Thanks everyone for the input. Rusty all 3 parts stores sale the same after market part. Hey I saw a post you commented on that you bought a ERG valve at O'reilly's, Did you get it in Az as in Arizona?
Any way my emission and tags were expired this month so i bit the bullet and took the chance to get it done even though i have been having problems with the car. The problem seems to be Intermediate, got in it this morning drove about 40 min there and
was hoping they would not ask me to turn the car off. Well they did, I was hoping that it would restart and finsh getting through the emission test. Started up and got to the wheel spinner and the chic tested and said there was a error and she wanted to test again.
It passed! Drove down to MVD went in got my tags, started the car back up and it ran like crap. That's what i am talking about. I think it might be a spark plug. I was just so glad it passed engine light on and all!

One of the best ways to get more knowledge and to find some one who can work on this thing is to join a car club, specifically an all-Camaro club in your area. Find a club, join it, go to an event, make some friends, ask questions.

By some repair manuals and learn yourself, nothing like finding and fixing the problem yourself plus you save some money for other things. Try to find a factory manual (ebay) or where ever, I have 3 different manuals i reference. You can learn from all 3.

I have all 3 manuals, and my 89 manual that came with the car also. Believe me i spend most of my time studying and researching my car. I will look into car clubs in my area. I think there might be one in Phx. The problem i have is iam not strong enough to do most of the work, being a woman. i know that's no excuse but is true!
