Guys, I want to build my first car for beginner ET Bracket Racing. I was looking for 2nd gen but most of these are rotted out and good ones are overpriced. I started to consider Mustang Foxboy with 5.3 LS & TH350. Then started to wonder why not just use Thridgen?

I came a 1986 Camaro with very good body & new paint job but without motor and trans for $1500 but has all suspension and posi rearend. Also it has very good seats and interior.

My plan is to use 5.3 LS (Carb.) with TH350 Automatic with 3000/4000 stall converter. I think 3rd is little more simpler compared to 4th in terms of electronic gadgetry.


Would a 3rd gen or 4th gen would make a good first ET Bracket Racing Car ?

What 3rd gen model year is better?

How about 1986 ?
