What kind of gas?

What kind of gas?
So, today I bought my first car, a 1991 Camaro Z28, 305. I was wondering what kind of gas you guys use, regular or premium? And if you do use premium, would it still be ok to use regular? I'm asking this because premium gas is $4.00 a gallon where I live, and don't want to pay that much for gas if it's not needed. Thank you.

I use Premuim a lot of the time but seems to run the same on regular. Our regular here is 87 octane and premium is 89 (I am 99% sure). I don't notice any differences, I just use premium because less carbon build up and I FEEL it is better for the injectors. Our cars do not say Premuim fuel only anyplace I have seen.

Re: What kind of gas?
On a related note, what brand of gas do you guys use? Ive always used shell and marathon, my dad says sunoco is the best. Shell has always seemed to run the best in my cars, so i try to stick with that.
Is there one brand that runs better in TPI engines?

I run 93 in my car just to be safe as it's 25 years old and i don't drive it all that much. On a side note I will not run BP gas in my lawn mower.

I personally think you folks with relatively stock vehicles are completely wasting your money by running premium gas. Run the lowest octane you can... Your car will be happy and your wallet will be happy. It's win/win.

:YUP:
These cars run a best 9:1 compression if you have a fresh stock rebuild and on 87 octane will be completely happy.
Not sure of the brand i use here, but when I was in the states, I'd use AMOCO if there was one, otherwise Texaco/Conoco but truth be told, once you get down to it, gas is like oil you buy. It's all basically the same.

LMAO, thats great. I try not to use BP either. Just not a big fan.
My engine is fairly stock, and i use 87. I personally agree with what was said about it being a bit over kill for a stock engine to use anything above that.

Re: What kind of gas?
As of right now I use Turkey Hill gas in my Grand Am since I get 10 cents off every gallon. I am picking up my Camaro at the end of the week, so I guess I will have to experiment with a few different stations.
