Swapped 305tpi turns over, sparks, no pulse,*Pics*...Ideas?

Hello everyone. so i swapped a 91 rs 305tpi in my 88 van that had a 305 tbi. it was a pretty easy swap but have been having wiring issues cause i had to cut the harness from the camaro kuz it didnt plug into the fuse block. i rewired everything well. i bought a vats bypass module and installed it.
now the problem is i can crank it over, getting spark, but no fuel.

i checked the fuel pump relay and im getting some voltage from the dark green wire from the ecu, but nothing in the red wire. which should switch power over to the pump.

Any ideas as to why the relay isnt getting power? All fuses are good.

Heres what ive gathered so far.
I can jump the fuel relay and get fuel to the rails.
i have spark.
it turns over
NO INJECTOR PULSE.
BUT....i cant get it to run with starting fluid. I thought if it would run on starter fluid then it was a bad ignition control module or pick up coil.
Im at a loss, is there other systems that prevent the inj from working? crank position sensor?
Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Also, im using the camaro wire harness and dont know what these plugs go to?
Its at the back of the motor where it splits off near the tranny. heres some pics.
Also theres a pic of the plugs coming from the pick up coil at the distributor.

Guess im gonna check the pressure at the rail, and some pins at the ecm for sensors. also gonna make a noid tester.

Ok, so i tried pulling any codes, but i got nothing. nothing happened at all. i jumped the ground pin(A)to the test terminal(B) like so...

This it what my cluster looks like with the key in the on position. No ses light comes on.


Also, while i was at it, i decided to test the tps sensor and map sensor for 5v at the grey wire with key on. there is no voltage. What does this mean?


can anyone tell me what this connector near the ecm connectors from the camaro wire harness does? or for?

also, is there supposed to be anything connected to the metal clip with a hole next to another plug kind of under the distributor.



on the top of my list though is figuring why i cant check my codes, and why i dont have 5v at the tps and map sensor.

the mil one side of the bulb is fed with 12v and the ground is controlled by the ecm pin E7.

you will not have a 5v reference too the ecm until the ecm is powered up, looks like you don't have the power too the ecm hooked up yet. Looks like you have a hz modulator in the picture you might want too ditch that scotchlok.

post #3 the second pic purple and yellow wire goto a 4k vss, the white plug is for tcc lockup. Post #6 is a vent for the egr solenoid it originally had a foam filter between the clips.

What is the hs modulator? and scotchlok?

i know that the purple yellow is vss but i have a cable tranny. what should i do with those then? what is tcc lockup?

torque converter lockup. found it how would i wire it in sense theres no corresponding plug.

solder and shrink tubing too splice connections together better than scotchlocks.

o YES! im just trying to figure it out still. once its good, im DEF doing it right and clean. I hate messy wires. unprotected and ugly. any advice how to connect the tcc to my tranny? 700r4

yes it was a tbi van. mine doesnt look like that. to the left of that plug in your pic, is a 1 pin connector with orange wire coming out.

you can also take the signal off the buffer and feed it too b10 of the ecm, this will require reprograming to change from magnetic to optical input.

so with this, i connect my existing cable to this and it converts it to 4kppm electric unit? any reprogramming with this method?

ok, just figured out by a pan diagram that i have a th400 trans not 700r4. gonna stick with it and hope the vss retro works fine.

So now that i have a th400, ive found that there is no tcc lockup and one cant be installed. at this point, where do i wire the tcc wires?

you will not use that plug but may want to remove f6 from the ecm, not sure if you have a park neutral switch but that is d16 a adder to park and neutral will get grounded in park and neutral. And just curious if you have swapped out the fuel pump ?

Ok, so after connecting the wires from the clear plug. now i have 5v at tps and map. my ses light was working and i jumped the A B test terminals. the ses light blinked once, pause and then twice, just kept doing it. so no codes??? after i tried to start it, the light wouldnt come on anymore. no blown fuses though. so now my ses light isnt working??

Car doesnt start though. Can ppl give me things to check with the voltometer and the specs they need to be within?

Also, with the fuel relay, i get up to 12v on the ecm wire when car is turned to On, then it quickly tapers to 0. i have 12v at the orange wire for this relay, but the other two, do i need to have 12v at the orange on those relays as well?

a11 sends out 12v for 2 seconds when the key is turned on for fuel pump prime.
If the mil is not illuminating check your bulb pin connection on e7. you might also want too go through and check your ecm power and grounds but if the ecm is not powered up you will not have the 5v ref too the tps and map. powers are b1 c16 and a6 is switched 12v. d1 d6 d7 for the grounds.
