Help Narrowing Down a Camshaft
Ok guys, I am having trouble narrowing down the camshaft I want to run. I am pretty good with this stuff but would like a few extra people's opinion.
Setup:
350ci L98 with 90k miles on it
Vortec 906 Casting heads good to .540 lift hyd. roller
1.6 Comp Magnum Rockers
Summit Racing Aluminum intake
650 double pumper
Hedman 1 5/8 headers
Car is a street/strip car with a 2800 converter that weighs about 3300 pounds. It currently has 2.77 gears but I will be changing that soon.
I like the LT4 hot cam, I just wish it was on a 110 LSA. I also like the Comp XR270 and XR276 cams. I wonder if the XR276 is too big and my power brakes will stop working?
Any other opinions?

I have an XR282 on a 383 and I'm not unhappy with the vacuum.

Re: Help Narrowing Down a Camshaft
I'd check out the 276 on a 108-110. Lunati voodoo has a 219/227 grind thats on a 110 i believe. Alittle better than hotcam. You will have power brakes no problem. I been in cars with bigger cams and still had brakes. The faster lobes on the newer cams allow more duration under the curve with shorter seat to seat timing so you can have a strong powercurve yet retain manners/vacuum. All at the expense of some valvetrain life but most lobes arent valvespring killers anyway

I need a cam with right around .500 lift with 1.5's, as I am running 1.6's and have clearance to .540

Call Lloyd Elliot at the link I sent out. He's a great guy to talk to and may be able to recommend a custom cam, or an already off the shelf grind you didn't know about.
He's a good car guy, pleasure to talk to.
