HELP! The shop cant find a brake propertioning valve for my 1983 z28?!

I have a 1983 Z28 camaro with a brake problem. I had a shop put a new master cylinder, calipers, lines, drums, and pads on my Z28 after having lost the brakes while i was driving.
When i picked the car up i noticed the brakes seemed mushy and the car took a little longer to stop. After driving it successfully to my friends house i thought i might be overthinking it and thats how the new brakes are suppose to feel. As i pulled out of my friends house i had to go down a steep hill and thats when the brakes went for the second time!!!! My emergency brake does not work so i once agian had to abuse my car by shoving it into 1st gear to slow down so i wouldn't blow through the intersection and cause an accident.

I called the shop and demanded that they send a tow truck out to get me free of charge as i just lost the brakes less than 5 hours after leaving the shop! A day later he calls and says to me "the brake propertioning valve is not letting brake fluid go to the back brakes and that caused your fluid to boil out from the master cylinder." Is this possible or is he just telling me that so i dont take him to court for doing faulty work on the brakes that almost caused an accident.

Its been a week and three days since he towed my camaro, so i called him and he says he is still trying to find a brake proportioning valve and that it is really hard to find one. If anyone knows of the specific prop valve that will fit my 1983 camaro please put the link in your comment.

IIRC, at least one of the lines to the early iron valves (82 to 84 or so) connect in a different position and the tube nut threads are SAE, which means that the later alum valves with a change in line position and metric tube nut threads won't fit. I'd suggest an advert for the old J65 valve in our site's classifieds.

BTW, I'd think that if your combination valve was malfunctioning, the brake-warning light would be on in the cabin.
