Hello everyone! I'm stumped!! can't do a brake stand!!!! HELP!!!

OK I just got my car running where I can feel the power.. lo3 to lb9 with 081 heads and LT1 cam... just replaced my fuel pump with a autozone one..fuel filter and gave her a tune up..starts up great hold a good idle no misses ..picks up good but it feels like there should be more power... I had two wire crossed and fixed that this morning . so I took her out and for kicks I wanted to do a brake stand .. dumped the clutch and when the burnout out started it pretty much just started losing power ??

like wheels spinning at 4-45k and then it just slowly drops off?? any ideas???
5 speed .. good clutch .. bw 9 bolt 3.27
original injectors new dizzy, coil, icm, cap rotor .. wires plugs . timing is at 8*
no o2 hooked up speed density cable driven mph gauge ../>?
I have a lt1 ready to drop in but I really want this tpi to get up!!!

please help me!!!! its been one thing after another 1!!

Could be anything from bad technique or too much tire for the (low) HP of the engine, to clogged catalytic converter or burnt clutch (you didn't say if the engine RPM's drop out or not) - you may be standing on the brake too hard or need to put in a cutoff solenoid in the rear line to prevent the rear brakes from dragging or stopping the spin. If you have drums you can loosen up the adjuster nut to reduce the 'action' of the rears in relation to the fronts and get to the point where the fronts hold the car barely from rolling and the rears aren't really dragging.

SO - not enough info here for anyone to diagnose anything...

Sounds like a typical stockish TPI motor.
Maybe theres something else amiss but......

Solution to your problem, drop that LT1 in!

My 700r4 TPI LB9 could brake stand with 275 rears with just ram air/exhaust.

How's your tune? With my cutout open, I actually can feel the lost in power, which I believe is due to it not being tuned with a free flowing exhaust. I don't know much about tuning at all, but that might be your problem.

Yeah same here ! But now that I have lb9 with Lt1 cam it hasn't run right ? It picks up but just won't hold a break stand the rpms just start dropping ? Stock tune the original cam was a l98 with a 5 speed prom 730 ecm .... it's like the brake stand st arts and it loses power slowly where as my tbi set up would burn up tires all day

Re: Hello everyone! I'm stumped!! can't do a brake stand!!!! HELP!!!

ok I have a better way of describing what is going on... when I had my tbi heads cam and intake and throttle body all stock it was slow but it could break the tires loose no problem and keep them spinning (brake stand) no problems...
now with the lb9 heads intake and lt1 cam she can't break the tires loose ? and when it does break em loose it can barely keep them spinning ..the only way they spin is if i dump the clutch... when I try to hold a brake stand the motor feels as if it's losing power or starving for gas?? new pump maybe two weeks ago , all sensors are in order.. also today I noticed the fan fuse getting hot..when I removed the fuse and started up the car while the fuel pump was priming I noticed the pump whine kinda loud?? wth is up with my car!!! PLEASE SHOOT SOME IDEAS MY WAY sorry I wasn't making sense earlier thanks for all your help hopefully soon I can get her running like this again
