1989 RS lack of power
Ok so I start up my camaro this morning, I let it warm up for a couple minutes as always. I put it in reverse and it dies. Huh. I put it back into park, turn it off and on again. Put it back in reverse and get on the gas quicker and have no problems. As I pull out of my lot, I get on the gas, only to have it rev high and bog down on power. Takes around 5-10 seconds to shift into the next gear. Next gear is the same thing. This all started happening today. The only thing I can think of is that the plugs need changing. What happened to my car?

Possibly a blocked up catalytic converter hence the reving up but bog down? If you don't have a cat on your car, change out your plugs and see what happens. Sounds like some sort of blockage or lack of air flow

If it revs without stumbling then your fuel pressure should be ok, it really seems like your exhaust is clogged. New spark plugs always help. You need a tune up and a new tank of gas!

Re: 1989 RS lack of power
Was working on fixing my fan today, and wouldn't you know it, my harmonic balancer is broken. The the crankshaft pulley is wobbling worse than a crackhead on a bender. My car is in my dorms parking lot, so I can't work on it there. (They only let people do minor repairs). How hard of a repair is this? Every video I've looked at has the engine on chains or stands; is there any way I can do this without taking my engine out? Here's a video of what's going on http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...cdrhxwdmz.mp4/ It wobbles a lot worse at higher rpm

Guess you haven't checked the fuel psi?
From watching the vid, you may have bigger problems.
Looks like you have a bent crank pulley.
Sounds like you also have a rod knock, loose tq converter bolts or broken flexplate.

To me it sounds like the pulley is making that noise. It starts making that noise after about a minute of idling, but it does sound worse at higher rpm. If it does have a rod knock or a broken flexplate I'm gonna have to sell it as I don't have that kind of cash or an engine hoist

Either way...you may be looking at a costly repair. I would see about removing the belts and unbolt the crank pulley and replace it first. Will be cheapest and easiest. Then crank her up and see what she sounds like then. If its still wobbling, you probably bent the crank and will require pulling the motor out to fix everything that may be damaged. If it's the flexplate, you can access that by jacking it up and pulling the transmission. Fairly easy fix to do that. And a stock flywheel (flexplate) is only about $40 to buy and do it yourself.

Sorry to hear man, if you lived down here I would help you out. See if you can try and get a hoist rented or something.

I appreciate the sentiment man. I've got a friend who's going to diagnose it for free this weekend. Fingers crossed until then
