86 305 TPI will not start.
This poor car has been sitting for over 10 years. It was driven then parked.
I did the usual fun stuff new battery, tune up, change the oil, ect. I checked did my precautions with the engine prior to that initial cranking. made sure it it was not seized up. I checked the spark and cleaned the disturber cap and checked for rust or corrosion. I checked the fuel to the engine, replaced the fuel pump and now it tests from the rail on the system with a healthy squirt.
I have managed to have the car run with a healthy squirt of fuel in the intake. However it will not run longer than 5 seconds. Does anyone know where I can go with this issue?

I pulled them out and cleaned the best I could. I couldn't find anyone nearby that could do a professional job with them. They tell me to bring the whole car to them lol.

Re: 86 305 TPI will not start.
What happened when you shot a little fuel (gas, starting fluid, NON-CHLORINATED carb cleaner, etc.) up in it?
Engines need 3 "magic ingredients" to start: compression, air/fuel in somewhat reasonable proportions, and spark at more or less the right time.
SUPER EEEEEEEEZY to troubleshoot a no-start: all ya gotta do, it figure out which of the "magic 3" is missing.
Odds are, it's only one; and odds also are, it's not compression.
Which leaves:
Air/fuel, and spark.
All ya gotta do is eliminate ONE as the explanation, then it's gotta be the other.
Hence, since it's mighty tough to keep air from getting to the motor, all ya gotta worry about, is fuel.
I'll take 10 no-starts to ONE runs-like-crap, any day of the week, as far as figuring out what's going on. A no-start doesn't stand a chance: shouldn't take more than about 30 seconds, if you're slow and lazy and generally unmotivated like me, to figure one of those out. You on the other hand, being a hustler and go-getter and seriously wanting it to work, can probably handle it in less than 10 seconds. I bet less than 5 seconds. I dare ya. Start .... NOW.

Re: 86 305 TPI will not start.
You must live in the middle of no where if there is no injector service/repair shops to clean and flow test your injectors. You went through the basics, fuel compression, spark and if it rund with starting fluid or fuel added to the intake the last think you can check is injector pulse with a noid light. you might think of contacting southbayfuel injectors for a set of there bosch 3 injectors.
Re: 86 305 TPI will not start.
In that same vein, verify that there is at least 34 PSIG fuel rail pressure, and that the injectors are being fired as Tuned suggests.
If they are the original (Bosch/Delco) injectors from '86 there is a good chance they may have stuck pintles and/or nasty deposits at the tips and caps. If fuel pressure is adequate and the injectors are being pulsed, there MAY be a way to restore their operation on the vehicle by taking them to a static open with fuel pressure applied, one at a time.

Re: 86 305 TPI will not start.
Was the old gas flushed out of the system and fresh gas put in?
My weed wacker was running like crap (kept dying) with 6 month old gas. Put some fresh stuff in and it runs like a champ.

Re: 86 305 TPI will not start.
Solution, I ended up replacing the fuel tank and the fuel pump again as well as the injectors. The lining of the tan was eaten away by the fuel that sat in it for over 10 years. I flushed the lines and bam it fired up. I had to replace the starter and am putting a new Idle speed Stabilizer to get her running better
