Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 9 Bolt Borg Warner/ 2.77 gear
Water Pump Problem
I already bought an aluminum HV water pump for a pre-1987 chevy 350 (which I found out upon installation) and I needed a water pump for 1987-92 serpentine set up. I found out that the water pump fits after I sawed off the extra bolt mount on the bottom right side of the pump. Will this work without a problem on my serpentine set up even thought in was for a pre-1987 v-velt set up? I thought all the chevy 350 water pumps before 1993 had the same rotation...

the water flow will be the correct direction,but water flow will be reduced a lot vs correct rotation.The hub bolt circle will be wrong too.AFAIK,all '88 up SBC and 90*v6 besides inboard boat are reverse rotation.
