Stiff gas pedal, blew coolant hose

This morning I went to drive my 86 trans am 305 tpi and the gas pedal was obviously extremely stiff, I was driving it around and the engine would rev up but the power wasn't getting sent to the wheels and then smoke started pouring out the hood, popped the hood open and the coolant line going from the throttle body to what I believe goes to the heater box cracked at a coupling. I fixed the hose and reset the throttle and the pedal feels like butter but it's still extremely sluggish, was driving fine last night, any ideas guys?

Seems like the tranny is slipping too, wasn't doing any of this the other day, I knew the tranny was shifting rough but am doubtful it sh*t the bed over night

If you 'reset the throttle', you probably disturbed the tv cable setting in the process. If so, this will need to be fixed before you drive it any further, you are risking transmission damage.

Why was the throttle stiff, and what did you 'reset' to fix it

Meant to say adjusted the throttle cable, I seriously woke up the next morning and started driving to autozone to get sand paper and I noticed immediately my pedal was stiff. The night before it wasn't stiff at all but I did notice something didn't seem right.

If you breathe on them tv cable's the wrong way they mess up, that should be an easy fix just test and tune. about you overheating issue once a motor overheats it wont ever be the same and i'm serious.

I know I need a new tranny because ever since I drove it this morning it's been slipping so the problem won't be solved with the test and tune idea. My motor didn't overheat, a coupling in a coolant line cracked and blew causing the coolant to smoke all over the hot engine

Well if your tranny slipping and coupling blew maybe that's a sign it was beat to hard?
