coolant... leak from head
so heres the deal, the driver side motor mount claim shell is moist with coolant, only notice it bc after I parked the car started to smoke form the hood, no to much but its leaking from around that area.
i replaced the head gaskets (the passenger side is fine) but before i did there was nothing wrong with it (had to take the passenger head off, so just replaced both sides) and im 99.9% sure i torgued the bolts correctly. but atlast its leaking, seems to may be only happen when i step on the gas so maybe compression is pushing the head up in that area bc a bolt isn't tight enough?
whats everyones thoughts on that?

Are you using new bolts and do they have Teflon on the threads ?

lol u stalker ur always posting in my threads
but the bolts aren't torque to yield so not new bolts (though I did make 3 passes over them to I think the book said 70 ft lbs)(also I cleaned the bolt threads) and I have high strength thread locker on the bolts in the valve area and the med strength water proof stuff on the lower bolts that go thought the coolant.

Crazy nut jobs on this site lol, liquid Teflon works well on head bolts . The head maybe warped. your just going to have to watch it and try to find white traces or wet spots. You can buy a cheap black light and coolant dye to find the source a lot faster.

Re: coolant... leak from head
If you did everything properly then it's either not leaking from the heads or your head is warped. If I were you, I'd get a new set of bolts and ARP thread sealer to put on them, you dont need any thread locker, then go through and torque them all and check them at least one time. If the leak is still happening, then your head is warped or its coming from somewhere else. Also chase all the threads before putting the heads back on.
Re: coolant... leak from head
I used old head bolts and didn't have a leak, didn't use any permatex till the intake bolts. Maybe you didn't torque them in the right sequence... It's kind of like top center bottom center and work your way out both ways start at 25 then 45 then a 3rd time to 65 ft lbs ... Don't over do them!!! They will crack if they are not sealing there is a reason maybe a wire is smashed between the head and the block that you don't see or they are warped it could be anything... You may need to pull them off again and make sure get then checked at a machine shop if needed, I had mine checked then shaved for a total of $100 for both.

Re: coolant... leak from head
made sure nothing was in the way, and pretty sure I did everything correctly. im thinking I had to miss a bolt, and ya I have the sequence fromt he book, so many bolts! the head didn't leak before, and the temp touched the red line once (but didn't stay there) since the gasket replacement so im highly doubting the head wraped... though I have seen stranger things on this car. watching it be something simple dumb, like laways.

Re: coolant... leak from head
Expect it to be the intake gasket, leaking at the corner and running down the crack between the head and block. Or, you didn't use the right kind of sealer on the head bolts (all 34 of which go right directly into the water jacket), and coolant is leaking around them.
Not likely to be the head gasket.
Not likely to be the head gasket.

Re: coolant... leak from head
Intake bolt that holds the fuel line clamp was loose, tightened it no more leaks go figure.
