Since your profile shows you already own a third-gen, you should know where the trouble spots are to look for (rust etc) - especially in the t-top area. Does he have the missing parts as well (side directional lens)? And why all the bodywork? Previous accident? Basically all common sense questions to ask.

From what I've seen and from the one purchase I've made, it looks overpriced by about $500.
I paid $1300 for a 5.0 L Firebird that was well-maintained and looked immaculate compared to that one except for peeling clearcoat.

I would get it if it runs. $1700 isn't bad. Look for rust in floors and all that fun junk first.

Without knowing anything else, assuming no rust and it runs okay, $1200-1400.
Maybe more or less depending on closer inspection and if any aftermarket parts.

Looks like a faded out rattle can paint job. If so it will have to come off before a decent paint job can go on. That should knock the price down a little. Also that looks like it could be a rivet on cowl.
Two things to look into .Just cosmetics but still important overall.

I paid 2k for a worse shape car, and not even a cowl hood, plus the engine was on it's last leg so I bought it and started piecing the engine together, 1.7k sounds like a decent deal, tires in good shape as in no signs of pulling? Anyway if you think it's worth it get it. 305 though so I'd be aiming at upping to a 350 anyway you should be able to talk them down a little like 1.5k

I've read through the thread and cant find out if its a TBI, or TPI .That's something I would really like to know. Quite the HP jump between the two. Heres some info on the car .

I think the price is in line with the condition of the car. I have seen cars in a lot worse shape go for quite a bit more here in my neck of the woods.

I would have to say it is a tbi too just because it looks to be an RS.

Still I would ask the guy, you might get lucky and it could have a few more horses than the TBI offers.
If it is the TBI then it is the RS LO3 ,5.0 ,305 coming stock with 170 hp and 3.08 gear ratio open differential. That is "if" it’s still stock. If your not looking for something with more power potential then it should be a fun to drive DD especially since it is coming with a 5 speed.
