these are the mods
custom made 3 incs air intake with MAF
vortech v1 supercharger
holly large throttle body
ported plenum
ported SLP runners
ported stock heads with stock size valves
comp cams valve springs 987-16
comp cams tip roller rockers 1418-16
comp cams push rods
rebuilt stock followers
full MSD set up with 6al2 box
ecu has a chip cant remember what it is now
stock bottom end part from a new crack, piston rings and oil pump
scat balancer
theres going to be a new flex plate
flowtech headers, y pipe and cut out

also have a inline fuel pump and will be up grading the injectors soon.

so theres the mods. im looking for a cam for a bit more power and nice ruff idle sound but not to much were its cutting out in traffic end of the day she is a street car and will only go to the track now and again. would be willing to upgrade the stall converter as well if needed.

Re: looking for cam help needed

All right here is the deal."Poser" cams with a "sound" that often don't do anything for performance and actually might hurt performance...........I hate.A sort of "like Mike",but not really. So I'm out.

I will say this. Most blower cams you find durations are conservative to capture the effect of the blower.Doesn't make any sense for a long duration for the "sound of it" to end up bleeding off the blower effect into the exhaust. In this case, home ported stock heads are where the bottleneck for flow and lift potential without machining the heads.

So there

Now you have it

And I'm out.................

Re: looking for cam help needed

Im not after a "poser" cam or I wouod just go for a thumper or stick with what ive got but I would like the cam to sound nice. End of the day ive got to drive it. Good sound is the plus bit of getting a new cam not just the power.

Oh and the heads were done by one of the top guys in england defo not home ported.

Re: looking for cam help needed

Tpi with a blower and if hyd roller i would consider something like a 218-224 intake duration and 10-12 deg split duration on exhaust. 112-113 lsa. You will hear some cam sound, should support mid 5500 rpm if intake is ported well, and make strong broad power.

987 springs keep lobes fairly mild, under .540" and not to aggressive like a xfi lobe.

To be honest a comp 8-305-8 would not be a bad choice and as big as i would go.

Comps blower nitrous grinds are basically what i have in mind, they have a 224/236 grind that may work well

Re: looking for cam help needed

Think the 224/236 comp cam could be the one. On there site it says for nitrous or small supercharger so looking go so far.

Going to look into it a bit more but could be the one

thanks
