Re: good deal?

Well it all depends on what value these heads have to you. It must have been worth it to you. Now, what projects do you have going that you will use them on?

Re: good deal?

Sounds like a good price. You should have no problems reselling them for more than that. If you decide to use a pair, you'll want to have a machine shop magniflux them to check for cracks. As you probably already know, these are prone to cracking because the trucks they came out of were notorious for overheating. From what I've seen & read, these heads are no more prone to cracking than any other head if put into a vehicle that doesn't overheat, so as long as your set checks out, I wouldn't have any worries about using them.

Re: good deal?

wondering if this is worth the money
Kinda late to be asking NOW, isn't it? For better or worse, it's a done deal.

The "right" mental process would be to ask, what should you do now; not, is the water under the bridge, really gone downstream already. And the answer would be, get em cleaned up and see what you've got, then go from there. One step at a time... always looking FORWARD.

Re: good deal?

I do like the Vortec's for 350/355 street applications.I like the performance GM new heads much better where they are designed with 180cc intake runners exactly for those size engines. After you waste time and money on used junk.............the price of the GM performance heads could be cheaper. It is a pet peeve of mine that guys all the time want to cheap out on one of the most important part of a build. The cylinder heads. Not very smart.
