so i want to buy a car that has a warped head and bad valve seals but it runs and the owner assures me that it will make the trip from Fayetteville NC to Chattanooga TN roughly 7 hour drive about 450 miles. My question is should i drive it home or fork over 400 dollars to tow it

 

Rent a u-haul trailer or tow dollie. Might be more economical.
Are you looking for a rebuild project, parts car, or just a car to.part out yourself?

I dont think anyone anywhere will make any sort of guarentee like that.

A U-haul truck and U-haul car dolley shouldn't cost $400...

 

Getting broke down in the middle of no where could cost more than any 400 bux.......

Find someone with a truck and rent a trailer from uhaul. There aren't many options. I wouldn't drive it. In my younger days I would have took the chance. But I'm not as bold now. 450 miles is a long way to go.

 

So I got the car back home and it ran perfect theres only a few problems with the car but warped head i think not...but any way one of the problems is after the car is warmed up it wont want to start it acts like the car has a dying battery basicly the starter wont spin fast enough to start the engine any ideas

 

If you mean after you shut it off for a short time then try to start it but it will not, it could be either the starter is going out, heat soak, bad solenoid.

If it does it all the time, possible other issues.

Do a battery // alternator // draw test.
If you dont want to drive it again, take the battery & alternator to autozone, oreileys, pepboys, etc for free testing. That will show or eliminate charging system.

non whatsoever the car looks flawless but the guy said he was guessing it had a warped head since when it go warm it doesnt want to start but if you let it cool down for like 20 min it starts fine like nothing was ever wrong its just like it cant spin the engine fast enough kinda reminds of a remote conroll car with a low battery

 

by the way i have been driving it like no tommorrow the thing is a beast the guy said it had a swapped 350 but that thing is fast all the way love it so far

 

sounds like a bad starter, or timing is off a little
if it were me, and no water in the oil ... i would grab a used starter and put it on to check it out

 

Anything is fast compared to a 3.1l...Take the starter to O'reilly's and have them test it, also make sure it's not getting vaporlocked.

 

The so called Blown Head gasket turned out to be a bad alternator and a pair of mismatched injectors lol

 

I bet it runs like a totally different car now
