I believe the connector that comes from the pickup coil attaches to the ignition control module.

Re: i feel pretty dumb right now
the seven pin side is fine, the other side is the one that im having trouble with. there is a spade connector on what looks like a condenser (im guessing the radio noise canceller) that im not sure where it goes. if it does go on one of the the two terminals on that side of the module then what goes on the other one?

Re: i feel pretty dumb right now
some pics to help. the first is of my capless distributor.

in here you can see the litte condenser thingy that has the blue wire with a terminal on the end. no idea where this goes
you can also see the black wire form the three pin "set the timing" plug that goes into the distributor cap. i attatched it to the screw that holds the little condenser thing to the distributo because it had a ring terminal and some black wire (broken) on it when i got the cap off, i assumed (i know i know) that this is where it goes. i also put blade terminals on the red wire coming off the three pin plug the brown wire also on that plug already had one, i also don't know where these go
if i need that plastic cover that used to go over all of these wires
if re attaching the black wire there was right
where the hell does that little blue wire go?
