No Start
Hi all. I know that there a lot of post of no starts and I've followed them. However my car keeps giving out on me and I'm getting desperate. I drive a 88 and I have replaced the starter, alternator, and battery. Currently Im trying to replace the ignition switch myself. But just recently my car died again. The mechanic claims to have fixed the problem but whenever I go he says it's something different. I tried to fix it myself but I don't know what else to do or replace. Another thing, my car completely kills batteries to the point of no return. I figured that I have some sort of electrical issue but I don't know where to start. Thanks.

A better description of your problem would help
No crank?
No start ?
No run ?
You need to disconnect the battery and put a DVM between the battery pos post and it's cable while pulling fuses out to identify which circuit has the power drain on it

Re: No Start
Have you tried a different battery than the one you replaced?
Could have purchased a dud. Same goes for the alternator

Yea at first we thought that was the problem so we replaced it and the car ran well for a couple of months. Then it stopped starting one day. This is my third battery that the car completely drained.

Wow. How often is it being driven and for how long? Are you running any crazy electronics or anything?

Re: No Start
I got the car about two years ago. There were no major problems except for a cracked windshield. I have been driving it as a daily driver, back and forth to school and work, for about a year until it started to crap out on me. I'm away at college now and I always leave it running. However, a month into the semesters my dad always calls me with bad news. Right now its sitting in my drive way until I go home for spring break. And no crazy electronics except an aftermarket radio.
