fighting with a leaking oil pressure sensor...
I have been fighting this leak for about a month now. It is the one above the oil filter. The first sensor the threads were stripped out. Got a new one and tapped the threads on the block. Put it in and it leaked. Had to replace it due to it making the fuel pump run consistently. When I took it out the threads still looked really good. Got another new one. Put it in and got a total of 5 turns on it into the block. It is leaking pretty bad still. Ran it for 15 minutes and there is a pretty big oil puddle under the car. Should I tighten it up some more? About had enough with it and thinking of job welding a plug into it and just using a sender up by the distributor for oil pressure.
Any ideas??

Are you sure the threads in the block are OK? What about getting a brass adapter to go into the block, then putting the oil pressure sensor into the brass adapter? Then you could see where the leak was coming from, at the engine-to-adapter, or adapter-to-sensor.

What size adapter would it need? It would have to be somewhat short. Not too much room there.

Also, i used a tap for the block. It was a 1/4 X 18 npt tap.

That's true that is pretty tight up there. Maybe a 90 degree adapter? I'm out of ideas...

cheapest extension i could find was like 12 dollars shipped and it is 1.75 inches long. idk if there will be enough room for that down there. really thinking about just putting a plug in there and taking the black wire from that connection and put a one wire sensor up top
