low idle and want to stall
i just put in a new gasket set for my injector pod on the tbi system...nothing leaks and that worked well...i also cleaned out the entire tbi throttle body and crud and dirt...wiped off the tps and cleaned the iac
it starts and runs no problem but it idles really low
when im in park it idles at 500rpm, in drive its about 450
when i just bump the gas pedal, after the engine comes back down it wants to stall but then catches itself and stays running
also, when i first started it...it usually gives me an idle of about 1100 till it warms up..but this time it didnt...just went straight to 500
could this be my tps or iac? i really dont feel like buying both for no reason...thanks

RESET the IAC & TPS.. but first make sure they are connected and working...

Re: low idle and want to stall
All you need is a multi-meter:
you have to adjust the TPS voltage with engine off but key on.
once the TPS is in the correct voltage range you can start to car to see if that took care of the cold start, high idle, curb idle.
The IAC is a stepper motor with a plunger that regulates vacuum... (idle speed) it either works or not.
bob there is no link in your OP....

Re: low idle and want to stall
ok i did just what was said in that link u gave me....
put the paper clip in...turn to on..waited 30 seconds...unplugged iac...turned key to off, and pulled the clip paper clip out...and then when i went to start it it did not start.
i had to try 4 or 5 times to get it to start and when it finally did i was at like 200rpm...barely on at all
im assuming my iac is trash..would i be correct?

Re: low idle and want to stall
OK, Start Over
The reason you jump A&B is to do both IAC and TPS at the same time. I have you removing the jumper after you set Min Air Adjustment. After that is set, I have you rejumping the A&B AGAIN to set TPS.
1. Take the paper clip insert 'A' and 'B' pins.
2. Turn on the ignition, but don't start the engine. Wait 30 seconds. Now, go remove the connector from the IAC.
3. Start engine. You are now going to adjust "minimum air". If engine is barely running adjust screw in till it stays running.
Its commonly known as "idle speed". It comes from the factory with a protective metal cap over it. If the cap is still there, use a small punch to knock it out. Set the idle speed to 450 rpm, rotating the Torx screw clockwise to raise rpm, and counter-clockwise to lower rpm. Once the idle rpm is set, turn off the engine. Disconnect jumper
Re-connect the connector onto the IAC. Start engine. Should be 600 rpm in Drive .If that worked, Now go into TPS procedure. You will need to rejump the pins and turn to on, set tps to .54 volts, turn off, remove jumper, start car again. All should be set now.
Drive the car for 20 minutes to allow the ECM to relearn your driving style.

Re: low idle and want to stall
The 30 seconds you are waiting for is the IAC to fully extend into the TB, This is why you don't start the car, then while ignition is ON, you unplug IAC connector. The IAC will remain closed so you can set the MIN IDLE.
