Throttle Body Help

Hey all,
New to the board, just got back into the third gen game after many years. I have a stupid question I was looking at my motor today and noticed the stock throttle body on the passenger side has three hoses connected to it, I know the bottom hose is the coolant line and the other two are vacuum lines. But every aftermarket throttle body does not have the middle or second line coming out of it. On my motor it wraps under the throttle body and comes out the driver side and runs to the canister right by the driver side headlight. Can that line be bypassed or am I going to have to deal with the annoying service engine light. I am changing the stock throttle body to a professional products 52mm part # 69704. I assume I have the right part because everywhere I checked this is the part number for my car. I have searched the various forums without any luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Throttle Body Help

Some newer aftermarket throttle bodies have a coolant bypass, meaning the two ports are vacuum only with no coolant passage. It helps keep the air-charge cooler as it enters the plenum.

Re: Throttle Body Help

Hey Ozz,
Thanks for the reply. The problem I'm having is with the second line or the middle one. Aftermarket throttle body doesn't have it. Would like to know what I can do with the vacuum line that goes under the throttle body and out the driver side to the vacuum canister near the headlight

I would "T" it into another line for now since you need the vacuum canister.

Re: Throttle Body Help

As long as its to a vacuum port yes. Or you can plug it. Just dont leave it because that will cause a massive vacuum leak
