Air cleaner clearance for stock hood

I am sure this has been asked 100 times but I am planning on replacing my butchered factory hood with its poorly added cowl that weighs a ton to a factory style hood that uses the rear hinges and hood pins in the front that weights 20 LBS. I have a Performer EPS intake with a Holley vac carb and am wondering who is using a good drop base air cleaner that clears and what height of element you are using. Going to be probably getting to hood in a few months but will probably be getting a new air cleaner soon and might as well get one that I don't have to replace later.

Never mind just going to go with a 2.5" hood as its the same weight.
