Tech / General EngineIs your car making a strange sound or won't start? Thinking of adding power with a new combination? Need other technical information or engine specific advice? Don't see another board for your problem? Post it here!
I just tried to pass smog in CA and before my car went into the smog shop, the technician was asking about my car and he noticed this hose was all corroded and advised me to change it because it will fail inspection. He also said it idle's really high (1k) and that he needs it to drop down a few hundred rpm before he is willing to put it on the machine. The car was already warm because I drove it about 20 miles to get there so I guess it has a high idle right now.
On to the hose! Can someone tell me what this is called that is connected to the canister on the driver side towards the front of the vehicle? I looked in the service manual and it said something about an air purge hose or something like that but I cannot find a part number or anything on the search field. Is it just a simple vacuum line? If so, what size is the hose? Thank you for any help on this!
Hi Bob88GTA! Thanks for the reply! I already know where it goes but I was wondering what the hose is called? I need a new one and not sure if there is a part # or any vacuum hose will do. BTW nice engine bay
Thanks...mine is just a piece of Vacuum hose/original. There is no specific part # anymore. Just get some hose from auto parts store and run it over to the can
