HELP, My car is Possessed!!!
I just got off of working overnite. It was cold out all nite. I started the car and it idled fine, I let it warm up for only about 3 mins. As I left everthing was ok. I came to a stop and something seemed a little odd. I can hear when my alternator is charging thru the speakers and it seemed like when I braked it slowed down a little. As I pulled into a parking lot and was going about 5mph the car sputtered a little at about 400 rpms, and I saw my voltage guage drop a few times. Then the car stalled, but I started it right back up and it idled a little rough for about a minute. I had my friend follow me home and everything was ok. The car was at about 160* when it stalled. My car has never done this before.

If the alternator starts acting funky it can affect the IAC too. The ECM will step the IAC out to raise the RPM; an attempt at raising alternator output.
Last month I was driving home on the freeway, terrible traffic.. car was stopped and my rpms dropped and raised then the car stalled. Started right back up and drove home fine. Tested it at Kragen and found out the voltage output was way low, so I replaced it and its been fine ever since.

Well, I don't have the ECM anymore and the alternator is less than a year old, 100amp. I have had trouble in the past with the ground to the battery, maybe that's something to check out.

At 400 rpms .... the voltage is going to drop. Shouldn't the car be idling at 600-700? Maybe 500 in gear... but I know in my car, at night time, with the headlights heater and raidio on, idling at a light if the idle drops below 600 the voltage drops below 12V. If I put it into neutral and give it a little gas up to about 1000 rpms, the voltage picks right back up to 15V. This mostly happens at night when the headlights are on too (huge current draw there.) So I don't think your car has a charging problem just try to keep the idle up if it drops too low.
