Torque Settings

Does anyone know the rod and main bolt torque settings for a 1988 TPI 350. Thanks for any help you can give me.

dont forget if your using ARP or other aftermarket rod or main bolts the torque specs will be diffrent, follow what the instructions say if you have aftermarket bolts

you ought to buy a manual instead of relying on second hand information here for something like this.

I suppose you are right "ede" but if this sight is anything like www.chevelles.com sight that I normaly go to, the guys there are always out to help a guy rather than lead him in the wrong direction and give him false info or help. Thanks again for the help guys.

I don't know how picky you are but myself I would rather refrence stretch rather than torque for those all important bolts. Torque is only an inference of stretch based on the characteristics of the fastener and a thread lube. good luck

true the members here will and do go out of their way to help, but mistakes can and are made and there are always a few trolls that tell the wrong info to see what trouble they can cause.

My Chilton's Repair Manual states the following for an 88 350 TPI:

Rod: 45 ft-lbs
Main bearing:
Inner: 70-85 ft-lbs
Outer: 60-75 ft-lbs

As stated above, if you have aftermarket equipment in these areas, you will need to adjust these values.

Good luck.
