Halogen Xtra Visions

Hey any of you guys use the xtra vision headlights? On the box it says 3 times brighter. If it is then I am getting these lights. I think that they are made by G.E. Not positive though. I saw them at Wal-Mart tonight for about $8. They sound good but I don't want to throw away some time and money.

94,

I'm not sure about what you've found at WalMart, but I have Osram (marketed under the Sylvania name in the US) halogens in my TA that are a higher wattage - 85/85 IIRC. It's difficult to tell from within the car, but from the front they are definitely a whiter light with more output than the stock replacement halogens (especially noticiable if you install one at a time). I think some of it has to do with the lens gradients as well as the wattage, since the cutoff on the top of the beam is pretty sharp. They don't glare too badly, but do put out a lot of light on low beam. High beam is harder to tell, but I have higher wattage lamps in the driving lights so I rarely use the highs.

Now that you mention it they might be sylvania lights. Not sure. I'll have to look at them again. I'm tired of having yellowish lights.

I bought the sylvania xtra vision low beams the other day when I blew a low beam. The difference is tremendous... the light is so much more concentrated, and I even noticed a difference in light given off to the side. The light also goes out farther (didn't touch aim on the lights...just a direct replacement.) The whole area is just brighter... but this is also coming from old regular halogen beams that were on their way out anyway.

Thanks guys. Now I just don't know which ones to get. I might get one of each to see which is brighter. I'll put one in each side and then turn the lights on and get about 50 feet in front of the car and decide. I think that they are only about 7 or 8 dollars a piece. Have any of you seen the ones on E-bay?

Sounds like these would be the brightest but I would rather spend about half of what they want for these. Plus I don't know if they have a high beam that would match up.
