No thanks on a freshener, I'll just keep the windows up. That's worked for 16 years now.

I may have added a little of the feet smell. I'm the third owner and it seems neither of the two previous owners gave a crap about the car. it was really abused.

Stinky feet smell might be the least of your worries if you are the 3rd owner. https://imgur.com/U82odat the one on the left cracks me up.

The story that went with this was a little girl was watching Sesame Street when her favorite song came on. She was allowed to turn up the tv & sing along which woke this family dog up. This is what the parent caught.

Sorry for the dog pics in this thread, but I'm hoping to share some laughter. They both do it for me.

Had a couple days off and decided to use my new polisher. Came out really nice.
I also removed my rear brake drums and stripped off the old paint, multiple layers. and repainted a nice silver color.

It's the Harbor Freight Dual action variable speed. The polisher itself worked great but the pads fell apart before I could do the other side. What kind of pads are you using? I need to get some better ones.

Wiper arm bracket connects to arm with.. of course a plastic clip piece. So does transmission shifter cable. Changed both these crap pieces lately.

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
I use the Rupes specific pads to their polishes. Blue with blue, yellow with yellow, etc. My main tool, the Flex, I use Lake Country ThinPro pads. You can shop pads at Autogeek or Carpro. Depending on how much you are going to get into polishing, it's best to get at least 2 of each pad you buy. That way, you are not finished when a pad disintegrates. Heavy, medium or light cutting & finishing. Many to choose from, polishes too, to keep you busy for awhile.

I've spent most of the winter working on the interior, I finally have all of the interior plastics, and I'm my wife's suggestion the whole interior is going 2 tone. I get to start assembling tonight after the kids go to bed.

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
spent today and the last couple days figuring out the wiring for my TPI to Carb swap for the new engine. Very grateful for a couple guys on here who have been helping me make sense of it all.
Honestly kind of surprised how everyone always says to just pull the ECM harness and ECM out of the car and run one wire to the fuel pump relay and you're good to go. The wiring for the electric speedometer, all the fuel pump relay wires, and oil pressure sender were all part of that harness for my year car.

Chasing interior wiring bugs, yay 😐
working on fully grounding electrical system, got the engine compartment done except for wire looms.
Cleaned and dielectric greased c100 yesterday, working on ground to dash support and then to body. Still deciding on a body ground point, maybe seat bolt?

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
Had the last week off for vacation, so I took my 2 4th gen birds to a local tuner to get the annoying ses lights tuned out
From this crap These are from my 2002 ws6. Didn't take a before pic of my Firehawk.
To this Thankfully my 3rd gen is still running clean, so it got to stay home.

Wish I could find someone in these parts to do that to mine. Chased a gas tank pressure deal for hours, everything checks out just fine, but the light comes on about a hundred miles after a fill up. That's aggravation for sure.

Took me awhile to find this guy (tuner)See if you have a performance shop in your area. That's where my tuner works out of. Does the tuning after the builds.

lol nice!
I replaced the alternator which is a very easy non brag worthy repair, problem is it tested fine for months and not to waste money I looked everywhere else for possible problems. It finally gave out on me and was stuck at work. Long story short trust your knowledge and gut feeling on certain things lol

I believe that pin-on hoods do not have enough structure to do what you did.
In any case, continue to use all the pins to keep it held down.
You wouldn't want it to fly up and crash into your windshield while driving.

I will be using the front pins still.main reason I did it because im sick of having to ask some one to help take the hood off when im at a show or going for a race inspection.

Gave my truck a week off & drove the Iroc to work all week. 2,couples who were obviously too young to be alive when these cars were produced, all gave me thumbs up at a red light. They really liked the car. After work last night, I gave it a bath & clay barred it. Waxed it today, in the garage. Slick as ice.

True that, man. Every so often, the factory produces some bad *** looking cars. There's even a few GM F bodies on that list.

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
Finally got around to re-adhering the cloth to the sculpted form backing on the Iroc's driver's door panel. Been putting it off for at least 18 years, took about 30 minutes to fix the panel since it was already off the car. Got a few more things to wrap up in the driver's door, then I get to do the other side.
Also made a pattern for the moisture barrier sheets between the inner door and door panel, cut a pair of new barriers from 6 mil plastic. Should keep water off the cardboard door panel, and insulate the inside a bit from the outside.
Spent a few minutes looking around online for a source of the fuzzy material on the lock ***** and what not, that allow them to slide and prevent them from rattling. Haven't settled on a specific option yet, probably try the local craft stores in the next couple days.

Had a tail light out. Had to change out the whole socket. At this point ive changed out almost all the tail light sockets. Ive stocked up on extras as ive found after 28 yrs bulbs just disintegrate in them.

Plan on attacking this oh so obvious, to me, issue of raw fog light mounting tabs.
I knew something didn't look right, but it took awhile to pin it down. Now I can't unsee it.

Does anybody know where I can get one of these? I tried Hawks 3rd gen & got no replies all day. A phone call to voice mail & 4 texts with pics.
It's the plastic piece that goes between the mirror & the motor. Brittle due to age & it broke while removing it to replace the driver's door mirror.<br/>

Oh boy- I still have my passenger side glass to do in the trunk as I was freaked on the amount of pressure it took to do the driver’s. As I can recall from looking around for just this contingency I think you’ll have to just get the whole donor unit and trade the plastic. *if you have power mirrors at least you get a backup motor!
