Larger Oil Pan, w/crossover clearance

Hey guys I'm looking for a larger Oil Pan, w/crossover clearance that comes with a baffle and possibly a scrapper. I have been looking at this kit, Summit Pan kit
if anyone has feedback or info I'd appreciate it. I looked for info but the word oilpan brings up way to much crap to sort through.

Re: Larger Oil Pan, w/crossover clearance

I used that kit on my engine. Seems to work well. I haven't had any issues thus far. The pan is relatively well constructed. While installing my engine, one of the straps I was using broke and so the engine dropped about 4 inches with full weight on the oil pan. Barely a scratch on it.

I didn't have any clearance issues with long tubes, and the K-member hangs down further than this oil pan. It's also nice to be able to run the oil a little lower without worrying about entrainment with the increased capacity.

Have owned these cars since 82, always had headers, always had a crossover. Right now have a big engine, big crossover pipe, never had an oil temperature problem.

I am also curious about the fitment on or cars for the oil pan in question. I tried to search it on here as well and got nowhere. A lot of what I did see were threads about old 2pc rear main seal pans.

I have that Oil pan on my 383 with long tube headers, so no exhaust crossover in front of the oil pan. I can say that my oil temp has yet to register anywhere near a level that I would worry about. The first one of those pans I got had a problem with the black coating/paint/whatever as after the first drive or two it looked like somebody splashed salt all over the oil pan. Summit exchanged it for me and this one has held up great for the past 4 years. My only further gripe with it is that I have a leak at the front and back of the pan (very small) and I'm not sure if it's the oil pan tolerance or a rear main seal and front cover seal.

Re: Larger Oil Pan, w/crossover clearance

I pm'd Rocket-Doc, the thread starter. He bought that pan, and says that it won't clear the cross over. He's going to dual exhaust, but I have no plans of it. Is there a pan available for third gens with extra capacity and a windage tray that will allow an exhaust crossover with a factory k member?

Re: Larger Oil Pan, w/crossover clearance

Just ordered a Kevko 2001 1pc rear main pan off ebay. Never heard of this company before, but I saw the name come up while searching and this pan seems to check off all the boxes for what I'm looking for with my available space. Price isn't bad for the pan and pickup, doesn't say anything about stroker clearance but this is a 383 so that might be considered stock stroke for a 400 sbc anyway... I guess I'll see when I get it if it's up to the task and actually good.
