EGR DELETE AND VACUUM HOSE HELP

I have a 1989 camaro 5.7L TPI. I just put headers, cam, cat delete and have a code 32 for egr. I am about to order a custom chip so figured I'd just delete the egr and plug or reroute vacuum hoses where needed.

my question is ..... if I remove the egr and egr solenoid what vacuum lines do I need to reroute or plug off? I know a long hose goes from the canister to the egr solenoid and up to the throttle body and egr. Do I just cap off the line on the throttlebody or reroute a line to it?

Re: EGR DELETE AND VACUUM HOSE HELP

Just change the valve and/or solenoid and be done with the code 32.

Re: EGR DELETE AND VACUUM HOSE HELP

EGR is a good thing for engine health - it reduces combustion temps at cruise when it's lean and hot and that improves exhaust valve longevity. There is no performance reasons to delete it. So why not just make it work?

Re: EGR DELETE AND VACUUM HOSE HELP

Code 32 does that mean bad egr valve or bad egr solenoid?

Re: EGR DELETE AND VACUUM HOSE HELP

The code 32 is thrown with the lack of pw of the egr solenoid. In 85-89 tpi the temp sensor can throw a code 32.

when I bought the car there was no light on. I recently installed timing chain, cam, rockers and when I started the egr temp wire was cut. I reattached the wire when I went back together and now light on and code 32 only. I even reached in there and cut the wire again but still code 32

https://www.ebay.com/itm/EGR-Tempera...gAAOSwq7JT1wtf

you can have the code 32 programmed out and still retain the egr function or fix the faulty temp sensor.

well I am having a custom chip made so I will just get it programmed out. I assume I can just leave it as is and programmed out?
