Which cam for a Vortec 350?
I have searched until I can't breath.
Looking for real world recommendations for a cam for a Vortec 350.
I am going to use Alex's Spring Kit. https://www.alexsparts.com/valve-spr...ssure-vsk4h53/
I have read about people using the LT4 Hot Cam with good results. What else has been used? Looking for PRO's and CON's.
Thanks!!!

I have one of those spring kits if you are interested. I decided to go with PAC Racing 1218 beehives instead. The beehives accomplish the same thing with less pressure on the valve train and control the springs better to higher RPM.
You're still going to want to machine the heads for screw in studs. You could easily pull a stud out with any of these springs as they are over 300 lb open pressure.

Thanks for the info, General.
I might just pin them like the circle track racers do because they aren't allowed screw in studs. They will not pull out then.

Seems like a waste of time when screw in studs are about $20....

You just slide hammer out the old ones, tap the holes, and thread these in. Less destructive than pinning.

We used a stock GM #049 TPI 350 cam on a stock JY Vortec 350 and put in a friends S10 recently and it ran high 12s. It has headers, 650 Holley, gears and stall but still I thought it made great power shifting at 5500. Better springs and the LT4 Hotcam should be VERY strong.

Post up the rules of the class you're running in.
There's not much point in abuncha guessing from out here, without knowing The Rules - ALL of them - that you have to conform to.
I would NOT pin rocker studs unless I had NO OTHER choice.
